Know it’s it’s one ofthe it can be maddening from time totime like I want to put my head througha wall but but there is 50 of the timewhere it is like absolute payoff likewhere Ryan said you have to Drudgethrough that drudgery to get to theother side to get to the real passion Ithink too often we confuse excitementfor passion we get excited about an ideaor whatever we say a lot of passionateabout this but then when it getsdifficult we say you know what I mustnot be passionate about this writing ishard yeah of course it is anything worthdoing is difficult but that’s why it’sworth doing it’s worth working to get tothe other side you get through thatslump that’s for the real passion thereal payoff is thank you thank you forthe questions hey guys just have to saywe are kindred spirits I wake up atabout 3 a m usually I’m a passionatewriter and my question is very simplebut I’m suspecting the answer ishow do you remind yourself to be mindfullike when you fall off the wagon and youjust get distracted by those pacifierslike. 40 of all podcasts we hitnumber 2 in our category and the numberone podcast episode in our category aswell which just was amazing so thank youso much for that thank you for all thereviews on iTunes that we read everysingle one of them and thank you formaking this journey and awesome one forus let’s go ahead and get started withour minimal monologue of today my rantthis week is about irony now when youcall yourselves the minimalists maneverything you do is instantly ironicyou know and people love love to giveyou a hard time when you call yourself aminimalist let alone the minimalist youknow though they find it necessary topoint out every irony every incongruityevery gotcha moment yeah you notice whenI was writing this morning and I waswriting about an experience I had in thecorporateroll with my boss and how I wasexplaining to him what the minimalistswere when he first discovered it and asI was writing I remember like oh yeahthe very first thing he pointed out tome was how I wasn’t a minimalist becauseI snowboarded

A small group of collegekids there and then we were told noyou’re actually speaking in a theaterthat seats 500 people but we showed upand it was more like 750 or 800 peopleshowed up and unfortunately I actuallyhad to turn some people away and I’mjust really grateful first of all I’msorry if you didn’t make it if youdidn’t get a chance to make it in thereif you’re one of those people who gotturned away we’ll have to make it up toyou next time had no idea that ourmessage would resonate so much and andwhat an wash at Washington StateUniversity at Pullman Washington but itdid and but I really feel privileged tohave the opportunity to speak to to theyouth it almost sounds cliche but we’reseeing more high school kids we’reseeing more college kids moreMillennials showing up at our event sowe have everything from 11 year olds to90 year olds who show up at our eventsbut I feel grateful that we get a chanceto contribute to folks while they’reyoung so they don’t have to make some ofthe same mistakes I made throughout mythroughout.
