Truth is that I alsorealized if I went this I mean I saidearlier it took me eight months to paredown my life I wish I would have done itsooner because I feel like I kind ofwasted a Nice Born To Be Cute But Piss Me Off And I’ll Duck You Up shirt bit of time doing it but justbecause it does get easier over time itdoesn’t mean you always absolutely loveit you know I do exercise every singleday whether it’s going to the gym orphysical therapy or yoga and I don’talways feel so inspired by it right nowlike I’m really inspired to go to yogathere but that’s when I know I need Ineed to go the most same thing with withmeditating or anything else and so Ithink ultimately when it comes to to anyof that stuff when I see the theconsumerism and the world around uswhether it’s at a shopping mall or onSouth Beach we were just there last yearwe had a tour stop there and I mean it’swill often speak in the mostunconventional places we a few years agospoken in the largest mall in NorthAmerica and West Edmonton Canadaand and it’s much better to speak therethan at a Buddhist monastery rightbecause. Amassive beautiful change in the worldand that’s such a more beautiful andgenuine and enticing place to come fromyou know yeah yeah it is and I just Ilove that it it made me really reallyemotional and at first I didn’t reallyunderstand why I got like the end of themovie I was just it was like happy tearsbut you know in your eyes just like youknow like I’m not really entirely surewhat’s going on here and I think it justit’s not very often that you watchanything that I oh that you’re a part ofanything that you really think likethis is gonna change the world likethat’s what I actually thought when Iwatched it because you know I think alot of people read books but the themovie is gonna reach saw many morepeople and this is this is just going toexplore and it’s so exciting because Ithought about when I first found theminimalist when I first found their blogandhow that’s probably like the one singlemoment that I can say like reallychanged my life like I wouldn’t Iwouldn’t be the same person I wouldn’thave the same values. Them up online and eventuallyover time we we wrote a book and then wewrote a second book called everythingthat remains and and and throughout thatjourney we continued to add on to thefoundation we build and so since theinception we’ve we’ve written hundredsof essays about minimalism but we alsostarted this podcast we’ve contributedin a bunch of different ways we’vetoured all over the place and we evenjust put out a documentary recently butthe key for us has been to focus on onething at a time and for us it’s onething a year we tend to pick one majorproject a year and then all of ourefforts need to coordinate to tocontribute to that one focus for theyear and so I’ll give you a few examplesreal quick as we look toward the horizonit’s always a year ahead for us so backin in 2013 Ryan and I started apublishing company with our friend ColinWright called asymmetrical press andthat publishing company was to reallyjust publish our own print books andebooks and audiobooks and Collins aswell and then we also have helped

Really wantedto make it back because last time wecame here in 2014 it was it was killerI had a three day weekend three yearsago and I was like where can I go on areally I didn’t drive at the time solike where can I go without a car so Itook the train here for three days I wastotally alone by myself and I came hereand I’m not kidding the person my tourguide on the boat here like doing themail run was like hey I’ll show youaround want to come to a barbecue and Iwas like I’ll open it please so that’swhy Portland Maine is awesome becauseI’m flossing yeah that person’s now oneI’m flossing yeah that person’s now oneof my closest friends and really happyto live here so that’s how I ended uphere but the cost of living is a lotlower it also and being on that journeyof like leaving the job it was what’snext which brings up my question to youwhich is when you’re on that path offiguring out what you’re passionateabout and it comes with its ownstumbling blocks is like okay I’m goingto try this out or that out I kind ofwondered.
